Who even is she?
My name is Hazel Sharp, otherwise known as Humanist Haze. I am a humanist celebrant with Humanist Ceremonies Scotland, based in central Scotland.
Searching for a celebrant can be like bravely venturing into the wild world of online dating - scrolling past numerous strangers until you spot one that’s worthy of a ‘swipe right’! So let’s see if we’re a match…

I have been a qualified humanist celebrant since 2018. I conduct non-religious ceremonies including legal marriages, civil partnerships, non-legal (symbolic) ceremonies such as vow renewals and commitment ceremonies, as well as funerals and memorials.

I believe ceremonies should feel like you – not ‘cookie-cutter’, and definitely not AI-generated. My ceremonies are delivered from the heart and with appropriate humour - less performance, more presence. I’m emotionally invested but do not make it about me.

When I'm not conducting ceremonies, I love spending time with my dogs, Roxy and Reggie, drinking wine, eating food, travelling, going to gigs and watching movies and documentaries - not necessarily in that order. That said, my dogs always come first!

My beliefs
I identify as an atheist-leaning agnostic humanist.
I have the humility to appreciate that I can’t know with absolute certainty that there are no gods or other ‘higher power’. I respect others’ right to have their own religious beliefs. I’m certainly not anti-religion; I support freedom of belief. I just choose to live my life centred around human reason, ethics, empathy, compassion and scientific understanding.

You don't have to share the same beliefs as me. All I ask is that you support, or can relate to, the principles of humanism, and human rights generally. And, I'm sure it goes without saying...you're against bigotry, misogyny, and narcissism - obviously!

So if you are two people who are wildly into each other, moderately organised, and not interested in a boring ceremony, get in touch for a no obligation chat. We could well be a match!
